A very popular zipline experience through the Tsitsikamma forest. Platforms are up in the treetops (around 30 m high), giving you spectacular forest canopy views.
For adrenaline seekers: the Bloukrans Bridge, which is a 216 m arch bridge, offers bungee jumping. This is one of the highest commercial bungee jumps in the world. Jumpers must arrive at least an hour before their jump; minimum age restriction applies.
Operated by Tube ’n Axe, this is a tubing adventure through the Storms River Gorge. You’ll paddle, swim, rock-jump (up to ~8 m, if you want), and float in inflatable tubes. There are different “routes” (difficulty/time) — from forest adventures to more challenging canyon-style.
You can do 1- or 2-hour guided Segway tours through the indigenous forest around the village. Includes training (about 20 min) before heading into the forest. The longer tour may include a visit to the Big Tree.
There’s a ~26 km route (or 22 km per some sources) that follows the old Storms River Pass road. The route goes through indigenous forest, descends to a river, offers swimming spots, then climbs up to a viewpoint near the Storms River Mouth. Bikes can be rented in the village.
Goesa Nature Walk: 2 km, ~1 hour. Starts/ends at the SANParks office in the village. A boardwalk, bridges, stream — quite pretty.
Plaatbos Forest Trails: There are three routes (color-coded) through indigenous forest:
Yellow (~8.09 km),
Red (~7.78 km),
Green (~5.09 km).
Along the yellow route, there’s a picnic site by the Storms River at the old bridge.
You can kayak under the famous suspension bridge at the Storms River Mouth. Then transition to inflatable lilos to float deeper in the gorge — very scenic, and calmer than kayaking. Optionally, cliff jumps into the river pools if you feel adventurous (with guide).
